Washington, Apr 7 (Prensa Latina) Horse conchs, one of the biggest in the world, are at risk of extinction due to a century of unregulated harvesting of their gigantic seashell, a research revealed Thursday. In the American scientific journal PLUS ONE, the authors warned that the striking species that inhibit in the Gulf of Mexico, could be at risk of extinction, while the one that inhabits in Florida lives a shorter lifespan and reproduces later than expected.
