The trip of the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and President reaffirmed the commitment to the two countries’ strong friendship, strengthening and deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation, the local Foreign Ministry assessed.
In a release summarizing the results of the important visit, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation underscores the international importance of this visit. It highlighted both parties’ willingness to accelerate building the Industrial and Technological Corridor and the Fish and Rice Corridor. The Ministry also states that during his stay here, Xi addressed with his hosts issues such as political cooperation for development, trade and investment, national defense and security, people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and international collaboration.
Xi and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet witnessed the signing of 37 cooperation agreements at the Peace Palace covering a wide range of sectors, including investment, trade, education, finance, agriculture, health, water resources, tourism, and women’s affairs.
On Thursday, Xi Jinping met in a royal audience with King Norodom Sihamoni, to whom he expressed his country’s strong support for Cambodia’s efforts to maintain stability, improve people’s living conditions, and pursue a development path suited to its national conditions.
With this visit to Cambodia, Xi Jinping ended his first overseas tour of 2025, which began in Vietnam on Monday and later took him to Malaysia and Cambodia.
