Ethiopian Agriculture incumbent Girma Amente outlined the country’s progress in the sector and its commitment to the green economy at a parallel ministerial session titled ‘Aligning with the Green Revolution 4.0: The Food System Transformation Journey for a Sustainable Era’.
Amente emphasized Addis Ababa’s duty to building a climate resilient green economy.
On the implementation and development of a comprehensive roadmap for the food system and nutrition, he mentioned the Green Legacy Initiative with fruit farming, wheat production and ‘YeLemat Trufat’ (Abundance of the Basket) programs that laid the foundation for ensuring those goals and climate resilient agriculture.
Within the framework of the P4G Summit, he also held bilateral talks with his Vietnamese counterpart, Do Duc Duy, during which they reached a consensus to forge cooperation in the agricultural sector, especially in rice development.
The Ethiopian delegation participating in the P4G Summit was led by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, who highlighted the African country’s initiatives and efforts in climate change, transition to a green economy and renewable energy, among others.
