“Ethiopia is deeply honored to receive the torch and assume the responsibility of hosting the V P4G Summit in 2027,” Ahmed wrote on his social network X account.

He specified that they will seize the opportunity with determination and an unwavering commitment to use the inspiring legacy of Vietnam, Colombia, Denmark and South Korea.

He added that guided by P4G’s core principles of partnership, innovation, inclusion and action, the 2027 Ethiopia Summit will highlight green industrialization, climate resilient agriculture, youth empowerment and women as essential agents of change in the green transition.

The African head of government said in the release that the Hanoi event demonstrated that even small, well-integrated P4G projects can have a significant impact and strong potential for scaling up.

The first Multilateral Green Growth Summit organized by Vietnam was officially opened yesterday by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, who highlighted the pioneering role of the P4G as a global forum to promote public-private partnership in the search for sustainable and innovative solutions for development.

It brought together more than 40 countries and international organizations, including the Prime Ministers of Laos, Sonexay Siphandone, and Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed, the Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia, Neth Savoeun, and the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina J. Mohammed.
