The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) made a similar statement, warning that, “The humanitarian crisis in the occupied Palestinian territory worsened significantly following the collapse of the ceasefire in mid-March.”
UNFPA underscored that women and girls continue to face disproportionate risks, including exposure to gender-based violence, unsafe childbirth conditions, and severe psychological distress.
The UN agency noted that hospitals are overwhelmed, medical supplies are stalled at borders, and only a fraction of health facilities remain partially functional.
On Monday, Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), described the situation in Gaza as hell due to famine, the spread of disease, and the systematic Israeli attacks.
