The military institution announced on its official Telegram channel that the air defense intercepted and shot down 109 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over Kursk Oblast, three over Voronezh Oblast, one over Moscow Oblast, one over Bryansk Oblast, and one over Oryol Oblast.

The release specifies that the Ukrainian military personnel focused their attack on the city of Kursk, the capital of the homonymous territory. As a result, one person was killed and nine others were wounded.

“Regrettably, an 85-year-old woman passed away. We express our sincere condolences to her family. They will be provided with all necessary assistance. Nine people were also injured. They received shrapnel wounds, head trauma, and burns. Doctors will provide all necessary assistance,” the statement reads.

The Russian provinces bordering Ukraine, such as Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Voronezh, and the Republic of Crimea, regularly report shelling, drone strikes, and other attacks from across the border, forcing the population to seek shelter elsewhere.
