According to the IRNA news agency, the Iranian spokesman rejected speculation that the venue for the second round of negotiations had been in another country.
IRNA adds that Baqaei also assured the day before that the second round of these talks will be held next Saturday, April 19.
The first round of indirect talks on the lifting of sanctions and Iran’s nuclear program also took place in Muscat last Saturday with delegations led by Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi and the US Special Representative for West Asia, Steve Witkoff.
According to the Persian news agency Tasnim, Iran has outlined a series of red lines for the negotiations, including that the US delegation must avoid using threats or making excessive demands regarding Iran’s nuclear program.
The Iranian news agency also added that Washington has been urged to refrain from proposing anything regarding Iran’s defense industry, as the country is willing to build confidence in the peace of its nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of US sanctions.
