Xi held talks with Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, participated with Cuong and To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), in a friendly meeting between the two nations, and paid tribute to Independence Hero Ho Chi Minh.
At the meeting with the Vietnamese president, the top Chinese leader affirmed that the framework of bilateral relations, based on traditional friendship and brotherhood, has become a joint effort to build a Community of Shared Future of great strategic importance, creating a model of friendship, mutual assistance, and solidarity.
He expressed gratitude for the warm and cordial welcome received from the Party, State, and people of Vietnam and congratulated this nation on the 95th founding anniversary of the CPV, the 50th anniversary of Southern Liberation and national reunification, and the 80th anniversary of the National Day.
Cuong, in turn, reaffirmed that strengthening friendly and cooperative relations with China is a strategic priority for Vietnam and is a fundamental requirement of its foreign policy.
He also urged strengthening practical cooperation in all fields to make cooperation in science and technology a new foundation, a new engine, and a new high point for bilateral collaboration, as well as to deploy effectively the 2025 Year of Vietnam-China Humanistic Exchange.
The top Chinese leader began his second and last day in this capital by paying tribute to the national independence hero and founder of the CPV, President Ho Chi Minh, at the mausoleum where his remains lie.
