A report published Sunday, on the website of the newspaper Il Messaggero, highlights the massive protest, with more than 10,000 people marching through the streets of the capital of the Lombardy region. The rally ended in a clash with the forces of law and order which led to the arrest of seven participants in the demonstration.
The last of the now customary national demonstrations, which take place every Saturday in that Lombardy town, started the day before from the Duca D’Aosta square, in front of the Central Station, crossed the city to reach the Arco della Pace, and in Piazzale Baiamonti the altercation with the riot police took place, the note points out.
Concerning these events, the Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, pointed out in a message disseminated on social media that the “climate is very dangerous, as in the 70s” and claimed that “the Italian police have nothing to do with what is happening in Gaza.”
