During the Security Council briefing on Syria, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, described as a serious threat to regional and international peace and security the Israeli airstrikes targeting multiple locations in Syria, including civilian infrastructure and urban centers.
The Pakistani ambassador urged the Security Council not to allow illegal military actions, as they are setting dangerous precedents.
In this regard, Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Qusay Al-Dahak, denounced Israel’s constant aggressions and its attempts to plunder the water sources of the Syrian people.
The Israeli occupation authorities took control of water resources in southern Syria and diverted the courses of rivers, threatening the country’s food and water security, the diplomat affirmed, quoted by SANA news agency, during a Council emergency session.
