Dominican Hospitals Received 189 People After Collapse

Santo Domingo, April 11 (Prensa Latina) The Dominican Republic's Directorate of Out-of-Hospital Emergency Services reported today that 189 patients were transferred to health centers following the tragedy that occurred at the Jet Set nightclub last Tuesday.

The agency reported that during the operation, coordinated by the Emergency Operations Center (COE), 74 ambulances were available, all equipped with medications and supplies, as well as medical personnel to provide care to those rescued.

The agency also noted that a total of 185 workers were present at the site of the collapse, along with logistical, operational, and administrative personnel, actively participating in the rescue efforts as of Thursday.

The Directorate expressed its gratitude to the medical and administrative personnel involved in the emergency and stated that the priority was to save as many lives as possible.

The day before, the National Health Service (SNS) reported that 23 patients remained hospitalized in public health centers after suffering various injuries and trauma from the collapse of the Jet Set nightclub roof in this capital.

The agency did not specify how many of the 189 hospitalized were discharged or died while receiving care.

A total of 221 people died during the tragedy, an event that shocked Dominican society.
