The measure was announced in anticipation of difficulties in the attendance of students and professors in the classrooms because of the strike called by the transport organizations, due to the extortion and hired assassinations, which have caused 16 deaths so far this year.
On one hand, the National Engineering, Catholic, Cayetano Heredia, Pacific, and Lima universities, among others, informed in separate statements that, due to the strike, classes will be taught remotely, via the Internet.
On the other hand, the Regional Education Directorate of Lima informed that today there will be no attendance at state schools in the capital and subjects will be taught remotely, due to the lack of transportation and for the welfare of teachers and students of the primary and secondary levels.
The Ministry of Labor informed about preventive measures due to workers’ difficulties in reaching their workplaces.
Among other indications, it authorized two hours of tolerance for entering work and recommended prioritizing remote work, compensating lost hours with extra work, and refraining from penalties for being late.
