In a press release, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed on Wednesday Macron’s stance during an interview with a French television channel.
The text affirmed that the decision is a step in the right direction towards the two-state solution and achieving peace, in clear alignment with international law and United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions on the issue.
It also called to support Palestinian efforts to achieve full membership in the United Nations. The Foreign Ministry urged the world to participate in an international conference to be held in June, under joint Franco-Saudi chairmanship, in support of the implementation of the two-state solution.
The Ministry also demanded the end of genocide, displacement, and annexation.
