Earlier, Al-Shaibani had issued a decision to recall Syria’s ambassadors to Russia and Saudi Arabia and clarified that this move is part of the diplomatic reshuffle. The affairs of the embassies in Moscow and Riyadh will be handled by the charges d’affaires until the president issues official appointments to replace them.

Official sources state that the number of Syrian diplomatic and consular missions stands at 54. They operate in capitals and cities in Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, and Latin America.
