The Shanghai International Trade Promotion Commission and the China Automotive Industry Association announced that global brands such as Volkswagen, BMW, and Toyota will be among the participants.
Under the slogan “Embracing Innovation, Winning the Future Together”, the event will be held over 10 days, divided into three stages: April 23 and 24 will be exclusively for the media, April 25-26 for professional audiences, and April 27-May 2 will be open to the public.
Experts pointed out that China has consolidated its position as a world leader in this sector by occupying first place in vehicle production and sales for 16 consecutive years and leading the electric car market for a decade.
According to the organizers, the country stands out for its technological advances in electrification, and artificial intelligence, and for the strengthening of its national brands.
Gu Chunting, the vice president of the Shanghai International Trade Promotion Commission, noted that the global automotive market is becoming increasingly focused on China due to changes in the world economy and the country’s development.
