In a few days, we will be celebrating the IX Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac), “an event that represents a new milestone in Latin American unity,” the top diplomat wrote last night on his Telegram account.
Gil took the opportunity to congratulate, on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, the Honduran president, Xiomara Castro, for her “outstanding management as president pro tempore of Celac”.
He emphasized that she “has elevated our principles of peace, integration and sovereignty”.
The Summit of the integration bloc of 33 countries will gather today in this capital the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, who will outline the documents to be approved tomorrow by the Heads of State and Government.
The Honduran Minister of Foreign Affairs declared yesterday that all the countries are represented in the great meeting and emphasized that it will be attended by a dozen of governors.
Reina valued the attendance of the entire membership of the integration mechanism and described it as one of the main achievements of his country’s presidency pro tempore, in just over a year.

Canciller de Venezuela agradece a su par hondureño por recibimiento
Tegucigalpa, 8 abr (Prensa Latina) El ministro para Relaciones Exteriores de Venezuela, Yván Gil, expresó su sincero agradecimiento a su homólogo de Honduras, Enrique Reina, quien lo recibió al llegar a esta capital, trascendió hoy aquí.
En pocos días, estaremos celebrando la IX Cumbre de la Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos y Caribeños (Celac), “un evento que representa un nuevo hito en la unidad latinoamericana”, escribió anoche el alto diplomático en su cuenta de Telegram.
Gil aprovechó la oportunidad para felicitar, en nombre del presidente Nicolás Maduro, a la mandataria hondureña, Xiomara Castro, por su “destacada gestión como presidenta pro tempore de la Celac”.
Destacó que la misma “ha elevado nuestros principios de paz, integración y soberanía”.
La Cumbre del bloque de integración de 33 países reunirá hoy en esta capital a los ministros de Relaciones Exteriores, quienes perfilarán los documentos que serán aprobados mañana por los jefes de Estado y de Gobierno.
El ministro hondureño del Exterior declaró ayer que todos los países están representados en la magna cita y destacó que tendrá una asistencia de una decena de gobernantes.
Reina valoró la asistencia de toda la membresía del mecanismo integrador y lo calificó como uno de los principales logros de su país al frente de la presidencia pro tempore, en poco más de un año.
