“There are 6,174 communities and 590,529 families affected”, he assured in an interview granted to the state channel Bolivia Tv.
The deputy Minister noted that 232 municipalities have been damaged by the floods and five departments have been declared in emergency and disaster.
He said that the damages reached the nine departments of the country, and to date, two of them have been declared in departmental emergency: La Paz and Santa Cruz; and three in disaster: Beni, Oruro and Chuquisaca.
Official reports state that 127 municipalities have been declared municipal disasters and 25 municipal emergencies.
“In total, 232 are with some degree of damages,” the authority lamented.
