Rep. Francisco Paolo Ortega, Vice deputy majority leader, added eight names to the list of alleged recipients of the funds that appear to be invented or based on well-known Filipino personalities.

Among the names are Honeylet Camille Sy, Feonna Biong, Feonna Villegas, Fiona Ranitez, Ellen Magellan, Erwin Q. Ewan, Gary Tanada and Joel Linangan.

Ortega added that the made up names “out of movies and not very credible” suggests an attempt to cover up transactions involving confidential funds.

“We are talking about public funds, if they cannot prove that these people are real, this would constitute strong evidence against them in the impeachment trial,” the lawmaker said.

Ortega revealed that Sy, Biong, Villegas and Linangan are among the alleged beneficiaries of the $8,721,750 in confidential funds from the Office of the Vice President.

Meanwhile, Ranitez, Ewan, Magellan and Tanada appear in the list of recipients of the $2 million allocated to the Department of Education under Duterte.
