Coordinated by the Zuturo Local Development Project, the exchange session took place in the Sierra Maestra Room of the Meliá Santiago Hotel, with the Economic Counselor of the German Embassy, Jens Gust, and the office’s Project Coordinator, Dianeysi Delgado.
Speaking on the Cuban side were Luisa Cosme, Legal Advisor of the Santiago de Cuba-Guantánamo-Granma Chamber of Commerce; Joaquín López, Foreign Trade Representative of Camagüey-Baracoa; and Rosa López, Representative of Maquimport (Hardware and Machinery).
During the exchange, 15 startups—11 from Santiago de Cuba, three from Holguín, and one from Las Tunas province— presented their businesses and development projects in line with the financing interests of the German Office for Trade and Investment Promotion in Cuba.
The areas of impact of the micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises present at the working session were renewable energy, recycling and waste management, food production, and sustainable water use.
