Costa Rican agents seized assault rifles of different calibers, ammunition, drugs and weapons of war during an operation the day before against the wanted criminal structure “Los Myrie”, reported Teletica.com, including the aforementioned explosive device for attacks at a greater distance and using superior strategies.
The raids, led by the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) to points linked to the gang in different parts of the country, included 17 simultaneous actions in neighborhoods in the capital, in the northern provinces of Heredia and Alajuela and in the cantons of Alajuelita, Hatillo and Pococí.
The incident is linked to a case of drug trafficking, money laundering and a parallel case in which the same organization is being investigated for several murders that caused horror among the population, the director of the OIJ, Rándall Zúñiga, explained.
For its part, the Attorney General’s Office reported that the drug trafficking group operated in areas where there were violent clashes with high caliber firearms between rival gangs, particularly in areas where drugs were sold.
