The forum’s objective is to contribute to the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration and the South American Plan for Migration Towards Integration 2035. It will also promote the exchange of practices in transit migration, regularization, return, and consular cooperation in the region.
The forum is organized by SELA , the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, the International Organization for Migration, the Andean Community (CAN), and the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In addition to assessing the mechanisms implemented for migration and consular cooperation, the CAN will present Decision No. 878 of the Andean Migration Statute as a successful case and the development of a “Framework Document of Good Practices for the Socioeconomic Inclusion of Migrants.”
