With the recovery of bodies from rubble in Myanmar, the death toll is close to 3,000 people, the number of injured is over 4,500, and the cities are devastated.
On Monday, a group of Japanese specialists in natural disasters arrived in regions close to the earthquake’s epicenter to assess the damage caused by the quake and identify enormous humanitarian needs.
The Japanese Executive stated that it would use international organizations to provide this additional aid and send emergency supplies through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and a Disaster Relief medical team.
The powerful earthquake has also devastated Thailand, leaving at least 18 people dead, 33 injured, 78 missing, and damage to the infrastructure in almost 20 provinces.
