The command of the Multinational Security Support Mission of Haiti keeps the deceased notified as missing, but once he appears he will be publicly reported.
There is even talk of an ongoing negotiation with the gang that allegedly has the body of Bénédict Kabirou, Haiti Libre reported.
Haiti’s Presidential Transitional Council (CPT), regretted the death of a Kenyan officer.
Kabirou is the second Kenyan military officer to lose his life in the urban battle to exterminate the armed gangs.
The CPT – reported Le Nouvelliste – praised the bravery and commitment of the fallen officer and promised that this crime will not go unpunished.
Kabirou died on March 25 in what was considered a dark day for PNH and foreign troops, after losing three other armored vehicles.
The equipment was set on fire by the gangs that are now keeping law enforcement authorities and foreign troops at bay.
