Condemning the Israeli attack on the southern suburb of Beirut, the head of the unicameral legislature stressed the urgency of ensuring the enemy’s withdrawal from the occupied Lebanese territories.
Berri described as a direct aggression against Lebanon and its sovereignty the raid on a residential building in the southern suburb, which killed four people and wounded seven others.
The also leader of the Amal movement stressed that this attack, the second in a few days, is not simply another violation of the ceasefire and Security Council Resolution 1701, but an Israeli attempt to undermine UN efforts.
From the site of the aggression, MP Ali Ammar stated that what happened is a continuation of the criminal approach embodied by the Israeli enemy, which does not respect any borders or international laws or resolutions.
The MP stressed this aggression is aimed at deterring the Lebanese Resistance (Hezbollah) from exercising its right to self-defense.
According to Ammar, patience has limits, and determining the timing and language of the response on the ground remains a decision in the hands of the Resistance leadership.
