In a ceremony headed by Boric and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, representatives of both nations exchanged letters of intent in foreign affairs and cultural exchange and memorandums of understanding (MoU) for collaboration on disasters and the copper sector.
Modi and Boric began negotiations on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) to deepen India-Chile ties in trade, science and technology, critical minerals, health, agriculture, climate change, and people-to-people relations.
The Indian prime minister stated that teams from both nations were instructed to start talks on a mutually beneficial CEPA.
Modi said they stressed collaborating in critical minerals and building resilient supply and value chains.
Sources from the Indian Foreign Ministry noted that both officials exchanged views on global issues of mutual interest.
On the first day of activities in India, the Chilean head of State also met with External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, who thanked him for his commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation.
Boric also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and is scheduled to meet with his Indian counterpart, Droupadi Murmu.
