The head of State noted this aggression is a serious warning of hidden intentions against the country, as it comes after the signing of the Jeddah agreement on the control of the Lebanese-Syrian border, with support of Saudi Arabia, and following the visit to France and the endorsement of President Emmanuel Macron. Aoun considered that Israel’s persistent hostility calls for intensifying efforts to collaborate with Lebanon’s international allies and ensure support for the right to full sovereignty.
The Lebanese president called for avoiding any external violations or internal infiltrations that could provide justification for future attacks, and called for strengthening national unity around the objectives outlined in his inaugural election speech and the government’s declaration.
Incidentally, Aoun reiterated cooperation with the cabinet and its leadership to ensure that the opportunity for Lebanon’s recovery is not lost.
