Margolles, who founded and directed the children’s and non-children’s group Alánimo for many years, expressed her joy at receiving this award, which reflected much of her identity as a leading figure in the performing arts.
“I have always been true to what I think, to myself, to what I consider valuable from a professional perspective. I consider performing for children to be the most beautiful job and vocation in the world,” she emphasized.
For its part, the Samuel Feijóo House, named after the prominent folkloric writer and painter from central Cuba, will celebrate its 30th anniversary tomorrow, Tuesday, as a center for the advisory, supervision, and direction of cultural research in Villa Clara.
Dr. Ramón Alberto Manso, director, highlighted the institution’s achievements based on the application of science to culture and praised the work of its members, who have been unconditional in the development of cultural and community work, and have done so in the most sincere and modest way.
