Second phase of Russian-Indian naval exercises underway

Moscow, Mar 31 (Prensa Latina) The second phase of the Russian-Indian naval exercises, Indra Navy 2025, aimed at strengthening military cooperation and exchanging experiences, has begun in the Bay of Bengal, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.

According to a statement released Monday by the Ministry on the Zvezda channel, the Russian corvettes Rezkiy and Aldar Tsydenzhapov, and the oil tanker Pechenga, are participating in the exercises. The Indian side will also be represented by the destroyer INS Rana (D62) and the corvette INS Kuthar (P46).

The naval exercises will last three days and will include joint exercises and coordination of actions while sailing in formations.

An important part of the program will be exercises against air and surface enemies, including live firing using AK-630 and A-190 artillery pieces, as well as large-caliber machine guns.

The second phase of the exercise is scheduled to conclude on April 3rd, and the ships are scheduled to return to the port of Chennai.

It was previously reported that the opening ceremony of the Russian-Indian joint naval exercises Indra Navy 2025 took place aboard the destroyer INS Rana in Chennai.

Russia and India decided to conduct joint exercises at sea and also agreed to expand the joint military exercises.
