The diplomat specified that Europeans are completely deaf to warnings that the very idea of stationing armed forces in Ukraine from those countries that continue to supply arms to Ukraine is categorically unacceptable to Moscow.
Logvinov recalled that “the arrogant Western reluctance to listen to the Russian position essentially led to the Ukrainian conflict.”
On March 27th, military commanders from some 30 countries met in London to discuss the operational details of deploying troops to Ukraine once the conflict is resolved.
British media previously reported that London and Paris hoped to form a “peacekeeping force” of between 10,000 and 30,000 troops to supposedly guarantee a peace settlement in Ukraine.
It was also indicated that as part of the agreement, British Air Force fighter jets would be allowed to patrol Ukrainian airspace, taking off from Polish territory.
Responding to that indication, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced on March 12 that the presence of NATO troops in Ukraine under any flag and in any capacity constituted a threat to Russia, and such an outcome would be unacceptable under any circumstances.
