Russia denounces Ukrainian attacks against its energy system

Moscow, Mar 31 (Prensa Latina) The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that the Ukrainian military attacked the energy infrastructure in Bryansk, which caused power outages.

According to the note of the military entity in the mentioned province as a result of an artillery attack on a facility of the subsidiary of the public joint-stock company Rosseti Center and Bryanskenergo, there was an interruption in the high-voltage line due to the cutting of a cable on a pole.

In addition, another attack on a transformer substation was also recorded, resulting in power outages in the Sevsk district, the communication states.

“Continued deliberate attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Russian energy facilities show the complete inability of the Kiev regime to assume any of its obligations regarding the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine,” the military body stressed.

On March 18, the presidents of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and the United States, Donald Trump, agreed in a telephone conversation on a 30-day cease-fire against the energy infrastructure of the parties to the conflict.

On the same day, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky declared that Kiev would support the proposal to end such attacks. However, since then, despite the agreement reached, Russia regularly denounced attacks by Kiev against infrastructure on its territory.
