The international aid organization stressed in a statement that the collapse is common in the territory occupied by the Houthi rebels and the areas under control of the government recognized by the international community.
It criticized “human rights violations, the detention of humanitarian workers, and unacceptable aid conditions.” Authorities in the south failed to “provide basic services or stabilize the currency,” it indicated
It underscored that the local currency has depreciated by more than 90 percent in Government-controlled areas in the last ten years, pushing basic commodities such as food, water, and medical care out of reach for most.
It said the north is increasingly difficult and dangerous for the humanitarian community to operate and deliver vital food, cash, and other assistance.
NGO Oxfam also criticized US President Donald Trump’s decision to cut funding to humanitarian programs for the Arab country.
