We are shocked by the deaths of eight medics from the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), Civil Defense personnel, and a UN staff member while carrying out their work, the ICRC affirmed in a statement.
The document stressed that these people risked their lives to provide support to other citizens in the territory.
We are deeply saddened and mourn the dead along with their families, loved ones, and colleagues, the text indicated.
The statement stressed that over the last 17 months, medical personnel and responders in Gaza mitigated the unimaginable suffering day in day out, and revealed that many were killed in the practice of the profession.
It stressed that the high number of medical personnel killed during this conflict is devastating.
The enclave’s health authorities informed that more than 900 Palestinians have been killed since the IDF resumed attacks on that region on March 18.
