Vikram Misri, India’s Foreign Secretary, and Under Secretary of State Christopher Landau highlighted the importance of the ties and discussed boosting bilateral cooperation, according to a statement issued by India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
Both addressed matters related to trade, defense and technology, mobility and migration, according to the diplomatic source.
They also agreed to maintain dialogue on topics of mutual interest, the official note said.
According to the U.S. State Department, the undersecretary thanked India for its support in addressing illegal immigration into U.S. territory nevertheless he requested the Government of India to continue its cooperation in this sphere.
Meanwhile, Tammy Bruce, spokesperson for the US government entity, said the talks also addressed ongoing efforts to reduce barriers and achieve a fair and balanced bilateral trade relationship, strengthen collaboration in defense and technology, and boost security and prosperity across the Indo-Pacific region.
