According to the Ministry’s statement, the launch of the Indra Navy joint naval exercises, which aim to strengthen military cooperation and exchange experiences, was held aboard the Indian destroyer INS Rana (D52).
The commander of the Russian detachment, Captain First Rank Alexey Antsiferov, noted that these exercises are an opportunity to test readiness for joint work and solving-problem at sea.
According to the officer, the Indra Navy exercises contribute to the exchange of experiences and the strengthening of the strategic partnership between Russia and India in the fight against military threats.
Admiral Satish Shenai, Commander-in-Chief of the Tamil Nadu Naval Region, emphasized that Russia and India share a rich heritage of cooperation and mutual respect. He added that the Indra exercise demonstrates the strength of friendship between the two countries and promotes the spirit of brotherhood at sea.
The Indra Navy exercises are planned in nature and are not intended to demonstrate force against other states. Their primary objective is to maintain stability in the world’s oceans and strengthen cooperation between the navies of Russia and India.
