The ICO ratified that it will hold its 140th General Assembly in this country on September 22-26, positioning it as a reference in the global coffee industry.
The announcement was received with great enthusiasm by the government of President Xiomara Castro, who underscored the relevance of this event to strengthen coffee, tourism, and economic development in the region.
The 77 member states of the ICO, including 42 exporters and the main world importers, unanimously decided that Honduras, due to its leadership, will host for the first time in history the meeting of the intergovernmental organization.
This meeting, to be attended by some 200 delegates, will strengthen strategic alliances and highlight the importance of Honduran coffee in international markets.
