Cuba to participate in Vietnam Expo 2025

Hanoi, Mar 28 (Prensa Latina) Cuba will be present at the upcoming 34th edition of the Vietnam International Trade Fair (Vietnam Expo 2025) with the largest delegation in the last decade, diplomatic sources announced.

The Cuban delegation will be led by the president of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, Antonio Carricarte, and will include representatives from seven entities in the industrial and agri-food sectors, the Mariel Special Development Zone (ZED), and the Ministry of Foreign Trade, stated Maylem Rivero, Economic and Commercial Counselor at the Cuban Embassy.

Rivero told Prensa Latina that the fundamental purpose of the Cuban delegation will be to promote those projects prioritized by Cuba and, fundamentally, to attract foreign investment to develop them.

Among the Cuban entities that will participate in Vietnam Expo 2025 are the company Minerva, which produces, assembles, and markets bicycles and low-power electric vehicles; Nexus Industries, which provides labor recruitment services and business and investment consulting; the import and export company Ilimpex; the corporation CubaRon S.A.; the ZED Office; and the Pork (Gpor) and Food and Poultry (Gealav) business groups of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rivero explained.

The Cuban delegation will participate on April 2nd in the tenth session of the Cuba-Vietnam Business Committee and a Business Forum as part of its program of activities. The latter will present, among other things, the foreign investment opportunities offered by the Mariel Special Development Zone and the experience of Dinvai Construcciones over 50 years of work.

Rivero also confirmed that the forty-second session of the Vietnam-Cuba Intergovernmental Commission for Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation will be held in Hanoi during the first half of 2025.

The Vietnam International Trade Fair is the oldest annual trade promotion event in the country and has been held since 1991 under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The 34th edition of the event will take place from April 2nd to 5th at the Hanoi International Exhibition Center and will feature the participation of more than 500 companies from 16 countries and territories, according to the organizers.
