“The migrants are currently being transferred two by two, but we are arranging for between 10 and 15 people to travel per flight. We have even coordinated with Boliviana de Aviación (BOA) to facilitate their return,” the official stated.
Speaking during a Request for Oral Report of the Chamber of Deputies’ International Policy and Migrant Protection Committee, Sosa emphasized that each case is analyzed to ensure support for those with family members or children in the US.
Sosa highlighted the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in protecting Bolivians in countries such as Chile, Argentina, and the United States, addressing issues such as human trafficking, human rights violations, and gender-based violence.

Since January 20th, the Bolivian Foreign Ministry has been working with U.S. institutions to return at least 200 Bolivians under humanitarian conditions and with respect for their rights, according to the minister. She emphasized that consular offices are constantly monitoring the situation of Bolivians detained in the United States through visits or phone calls to ensure they receive dignified treatment.
Foreign Ministry officials have already held meetings with U.S. authorities, non-governmental and religious organizations, and solidarity groups to establish coordination channels for ongoing assistance.
