This new demonstration is part of a package of actions -including a possible indefinite national strike- announced by the collectives in rejection of the initiative enacted by President José Raúl Mulino, but considered detrimental to workers and their families.
Marco Andrade, general secretary of the National Confederation of Independent Union Unity (Conusi), one of the spokespersons of the group, indicated that the law was approved in the Legislative without taking into account the proposals supported by the different unions.
The rejection of metallic mining, the high cost of living and the opposition of peasant communities to the construction of a water reservoir for the Panama Canal in Rio Indio, will be other claims of the protests, it was reported.
For the alliance, this law reduces the pensions of retirees and increases the retirement age in a disguised way.
