The organization warned in a statement about the complex living conditions the Palestinian prisoners suffer at the Megiddo, Ofer, and Damon detention centers, among others.
It mentioned, as an example, the case of the Megiddo prison, where several infectious diseases, including scabies, have spread.
Released detainees and lawyers who visited the jail noted that the severe health conditions also affected several children. The PPC underscored that the Israeli prison system deliberately deprives detainees, including children and women, of factors that could help limit the spread of diseases.
At least 63 Palestinians have died in Israeli prisons since the current cycle of violence broke out in October 2023.
