Speaking at an Iftar dinner on the occasion of International Al-Quds Day, which is celebrated annually on the last Friday of Ramadan, the Iranian diplomat condemned the ongoing violence in Gaza due to the aggression of the Zionist regime and accused certain world powers of supporting actions that have caused countless civilian casualties, according to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) news agency.
Moghaddam further denounced Israel for escalating regional tensions through military actions in Gaza and Yemen, and asserted that such measures serve to divert attention from the strategic failure of the occupation.
Over the past year and a half, attacks on Gaza have resulted in the deaths of more than 55,000 innocent children, women and men, in addition to large-scale displacement and the destruction of vital infrastructure, he added.
He also considered Israeli statements about prisoner exchanges as lies propagated by the occupying forces.
The Iranian diplomat highlighted the resilience of the Palestinian resistance, which, he said, remains unwavering, legitimate and growing stronger in the face of oppression.
