According to him, his country’s arms export licenses should serve to equip forces and effectively combat all kinds of challenges to common security.
He also affirmed that Türkiye is ready to contribute to strengthening transatlantic relations and deepening cooperation in the defense sector and advanced technology.
Akar underlined the need to strengthen joint defense missions of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), stressing that terrorism remains one of the most serious hybrid threats.
He expressed that Türkiye is at the forefront in the fight against this threat by firmly combatting all terrorist organizations, including Al-Qaeda, ISIS (Daesh), among others.
Similarly, Akar noted that Ankara, committed to the principle of indivisibility of security within NATO, consistently supported the deterrence and defense efforts of the military bloc.
According to him, the Ottoman country’s participation in EUFOR Althea (the European Union’s military deployment in Bosnia and Herzegovina to oversee the military implementation of the Dayton Agreement) is an example of our strong support for regional stability.
