According to the Jamaica Observer digital newspaper, the talks could revolve around Washington’s foreign policy and its effect on Trinidad and Tobago and the region in general.

Young believes that the bilateral discussions provide a strategic opportunity to highlight the importance of the relationship between Trinidad and Tobago, the Caribbean Community and the White House.

All parties, Young stressed, should focus on exploring areas for deepening cooperation. Young considered the meeting with Rubio to be in keeping with his commitment to continue to engage in dialogue at the highest level of the US administration.
