Israeli blockade and attacks deepened humanitarian crisis in Gaza

Ramallah, Mar 26 (Prensa Latina) Munir Al-Barsh, director general of the Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip, warned on Wednesday that the crisis in the territory has already surpassed the catastrophe level and denounced the total lack of emergency medicines.

Speaking to the Qatari television station Al Jazeera, the doctor condemned Israel’s refusal to allow fuel into the coastal enclave, saying the measure affects the hospitals’ functioning.

Al-Barsh called on Gazans to donate blood to help the large number of people wounded in the attacks conducted by the Army, which resumed operations on March 18 after a 58-day ceasefire.

Since then, more than 800 people have been killed and more than 1,600 have been injured, mostly civilians and senior members of the Islamic Resistance Movement.

Last week, the Palestinian Health Ministry affirmed that the Gaza Strip and the West Bank are facing a health catastrophe due to continued aggression and the tightening of the Israeli blockade.
