Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun made the remarks after the publication of the report “Economic Prospects and Integration Process in Asia 2025” at the opening of the Boao Forum.
As stated by the spokesman, the region has demonstrated remarkable resilience and is leading advances in economic growth, trade in goods and services, and regional economic integration.
“Asia has established itself as a key source of momentum and stability for global growth,” he said.
In a context of growing instability and uncertainty, the spokesman stressed that the international community is looking to the region for solutions.
As explained by Guo, during this year’s Boao Forum, participants will discuss how to move towards inclusive economic globalization, promote the upgrading of the China-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Free Trade Agreement to version 3.0 and explore new sources of sustainable growth.
