President Nicolás Maduro urged resistance against an international “campaign of lies” against Venezuela, dismissing as absurd the claim that economic migrants are criminals invading the United States.

He stated that Venezuelans are focused on building a self-reliant and stable nation, calling the invasion accusation the “biggest lie ever told” about Venezuela, comparable to the Iraq WMD claims, and a pretext for aggression.

Maduro announced a major national and international event with over 90 nations participating, to defend peace and debunk the anti-Venezuela campaign, urging “decent people” to reject the lies.
