In a statement, the union denounced the death yesterday of Mohammad Mansour, a correspondent for the Palestine Today channel, and Hussam Shabat, a reporter for the Qatari television station Al Jazeera.

These war crimes are aimed at concealing the truth and terrorizing those who defend freedom of expression, he said.

Such actions are neither isolated events nor an exception, they are part of a systematic Israeli policy to eliminate Palestinian journalists, who have become direct targets of the army, he said.

The institution recalled that, since the beginning of the aggression against the coastal enclave, in October 2023, more than 200 workers in the sector lost their lives there due to Israeli attacks.

“This is the largest massacre committed against media professionals in modern history, amid a suspicious international silence,” it stressed.

The union considered the attacks against the sector to be a war crime and called on the world to stop them.
