According to Propakistani news media, Azerbaijan has expressed its intention to invest US$ 2 billion in projects in Pakistan, mainly in road infrastructure.
The news outlet cites a meeting of the Standing Committee on Planning of the Senate, in which it was suggested that Azerbaijan’s investment could be used for the M-10 highway if the Islamic Development Bank provides financing for the M-6.
The bank’s fact-finding team visited Pakistan in February and an assessment mission is scheduled for next April, according to the news source.
Relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan are based on a strategic partnership that has evolved significantly in recent years, according to Islamabad.
