Forum Vice President Zhou Xiaochuan stated that despite global uncertainty, the consolidation of the Global South, inclusive globalization in Asia, and China’s reforms remain key.
Secretary-General Zhang Jun emphasized the forum’s focus on improving global governance, fostering trust, and promoting regional economic integration and cross-border e-commerce led by nations like China and ASEAN, while advocating for open dialogue on technological innovation and rejecting protectionism.
The forum, dubbed the “Davos of Asia” for 23 years, features an expanded agenda including innovation, health, culture, education, media, and economic security.
In the March 2024 edition, world leaders met with President Xi Jinping and other top Chinese authorities.
