The EU External Action Service announced in a statement that Kallas will travel to Egypt tomorrow for that purpose, where she will also hold meetings with the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, Badr Abdelatty.
The statement details that after the meeting with the Egyptian Foreign Minister, a joint press conference will be held, followed by a meeting with the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee on Palestine.
The mission will be an opportunity to discuss EU-Egyptian relations, the crisis in Gaza, and other regional security challenges, the European External Action Service stated.
The trip by the European bloc’s top diplomat to Egypt and the contacts regarding Gaza will take place just days after Israel broke the ceasefire last Tuesday with a wave of bombings on Gaza that left more than 600 dead and 1,172 injured, according to a recent report from the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
