Putin gratefully accepted Erdogan’s invitation, although the trip’s dates have not yet been agreed between the parties through the appropriate diplomatic channels, the spokesperson told reporters.
The Turkish head of State submitted the invitation to Putin through Valentina Matviyenko, president of the Russian Senate, who paid an official visit to that country in late February.
Peskov added that no contacts between the two presidents were planned for the coming days.
Peskov also stressed, when answering a question from reporters, that the protests in Türkiye these days will not be a reason for a phone conversation between the two presidents, as Russia never interferes in other countries’ internal affairs.
